Cross Street Chicken and Beer – A Preview Before Their Grand Opening
Location: 4403 Convoy St, San Diego, CA 92111
After writing our blog about this new spot, we had to go in to try it for ourselves. Cross Street is currently celebrating their soft opening, so we went in for a late lunch at 3PM. By the time we got there, around 2:45PM, there was already a line forming and we quickly signed up our party of 4. We got seated quickly right when they opened, along with everyone else in line, bringing a buzz and excitement to the atmosphere.
Once seated, our server handed us the soft opening menus, which had a variety of options regardless of the fact they hadn’t officially launched yet. He was super helpful, friendly and gave us great suggestions on what to order. We got two servings of wings, the Soy Garlic and the Thai Chili. The big pieces of chicken was plenty of food for 4 people. Each of us had 3 wings they were honestly amazing. The perfectly crispy skin covered the savory, tender meat inside. The Soy Garlic had so much flavor, and the Thai Chili had a kick of spice. On the side, we had the Kimchi Rice and the Corn Cheese. The Corn cheese was honestly incredible – we scraped the crispy cheese at the bottom of the pan until it was clean.
This place is sure to be a new neighborhood favorite. Owner Tommy Ngyuyen will certainly welcome you to try the food at Cross Street with open arms.
