If there is one thing that San Diego does right, other than craft beer, it has got to be restaurants. San Diego is a city filled with foodies. In many different areas of cuisine, local chefs and restaurants set the benchmark for not only the region, but, in some cases, the country. There are so many excellent restaurants, and there are new ones popping up all the time. This can make it very hard to figure out each place you would like to experience.

Thankfully, San Diego Restaurant Week makes it much easier for you to enjoy a cross-section of the dishes offered at participating restaurants. For one glorious week, San Diego restaurants participating in this program offer special prix fixe menus with everything from quick lunches to gourmet dinners.
Enjoy a Prix Fixe Menu at a Number of Different Eateries
For eight days, residents and visitors to San Diego will be able to enjoy special foods at more than 180 different restaurants around the greater San Diego area. Whether you are looking for French cuisine, sushi, incredible steaks, Italian or seafood straight from the bay, there are restaurants participating that you don’t want to miss. All of them will have special prix fixe menus.
Prix fixe means several courses for a set price. You usually have a few options. For example Casa De Bandini is offering a two-course Mexican lunch for just $10 per person. You start the meal with your choice of fresh salad in a conch shell, fresh guacamole served with warm tortilla chips or a cheese quesadilla. Then, you can choose a burrito, a special tostada or a trio of tostadas as your entree.
Eight Days of Culinary Wonder
San Diego Restaurant Week makes it easy for you to try out new restaurants, even if you are on a budget. Going out for San Diego restaurant week can be a fun thing to do with your co-workers, or it can be a creative idea for a date. It’s important to remember that the prix fixe cost does not include any gratuity, tax or alcohol.
However, it does include a meal that will leave you with a great idea of the dishes served at the restaurant you visited. Having the option to enjoy multiple courses in one meal makes it possible to try more than you might if you were just ordering off the menu.
